A documentary about
love, passion, pigeons & HOME
HOME, is a feature length documentary about love, passion, pigeons and what home means to people.
This film follows Daniel-John Williams on a journey to find out what home means to those he meets with a backdrop of Pigeons and their devoted fanciers in Teesside.
HOME, is informative, inspirational, heartfelt and a dollop of humour thrown in for good measure, whilst we embark on a detective story and a race against time, as in this sport, as in life, every second counts.
This film has taken three years to complete, due to it being entirely self funded and Daniel-John's debut feature film as a producer. During filming, Daniel set up Nova Mundi Studios with partner Marc de Launay and then North East Screen supported the film with REACH funding, which helped get the film over the finish line.
HOME, formerly titled Pigeon Men has been a fast paced educational stomping ground for producer-director Daniel-John Williams.
Daniel-John, an actor, who is not a house hold name, embarks on a journey to discover what home really means to people and when the pandemic hit in 2020, he found himself sat at home, unsure how to stay creative, with no scripts or characters to develop for work.
Redcar Central Flying Club embraced and welcomed Daniel-John into their world and little did he know, the people he would meet, the stories he would hear and the friendships he would make, would lead to a feature length documentary.
We hope this is a gentle nod to pigeons fanciers around the world, but also a warm welcome to those who want to learn something new and see how a first-time filmmaker discovers what it takes to produce a film, without a driving manual.
Prior to filming, Daniel-John knew 'NOTHING ABOUT PIGEONS' or 'PRODUCING A FEATURE FILM'

Nova Mundi would also like to thank The Up North Combine, who gave us exclusive access to the pigeon world, pigeon fanciers tips and tricks, and allowed us into their lives. This film is dedicated to the pigeon men at California allotments in Redcar and anyone who has a passion for pigeons, or those following their dreams.
